Gloria Akuffo

Honorable Gloria Afua Akuffo (born December 31, 1954 ) is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician . In the government of President John Agyekum Kufuor , she was Minister for Aviation.

Akuffo attended Aburi Secondary School for Girls in the Eastern Region between 1968 and 1975 and was enrolled in Accra Workers College between 1975 and 1976, where she completed her A-Level.

Between 1976 and 1979 Akuffo was enrolled in law and political science at the University of Ghana in Legon, a district of Accra . She completed her studies in 1979 with a BA (Hons.) In both subjects. Between 1979 and 1981 she attended the Ghana School of Law in Accra and graduated with a General Legal Council of Ghana Certificate in Law . In 1982 she was listed by the Ghana Bar Association as a barrister and solicitor .

Akuffo completed her National Service between 1981 and 1982 at the Agricultural Development Band, Ring Road Branch.

Career

Between 1984 and 2001 Akuffo worked as a lawyer in the Ameyi Chamber. After the appointment of President John Agyekum Kufuor for his first term, Akuffo became Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General from 2001 to 2005. In the period from October 2001 to March 2003, she was directly subordinate to Papa Owusu-Ankomah , then Minister of Justice.

In 2005 Akuffo became Regional Minister for the Greater Accra Region until she became Minister of the newly established Department of Aviation in April 2006.
