The Inguinaltasche ( sine inguinalis ) is in the groin , at the base of the udder or the scrotum preferred skin gland at caprine . It is very distinct in sheep , but only hinted at in goats .

The inguinal pocket contains numerous sebum glands and apocrine tube glands that produce a yellowish, fatty secretion . This is distributed in the hairless area of the groin and the inside of the thigh, thus reducing the friction between the thigh and the trunk. It also serves as a marker when lying down and probably also shows the lamb the way to its mother's udder.
