Kyusu
Kyūsu ( Japanese 急 須 ) is a traditional Japanese teapot , which is mainly used to brew green tea .
Due to its particularly short brewing time of only one to two minutes for green tea, this pot often has an internal sieve (spout sieve or panoramic sieve ) so that the tea can be poured in loosely. The hot water is poured directly into the cups after being drawn briefly and only refilled when necessary.
A common misconception is that a kyusu must always have a side grip. The word Kyusu actually only means teapot, although it often means a teapot with a side handle.
The two most common types of kyusu are yokode kyūsu ( 横 手 急 須 , "teapots with a handle"), which have a side handle and are the more common type, and ushirode kyūsu ( 後手 急 須 , "teapot with a handle"), which have a U-shaped at the back Have a grip. There are also uwade kyūsu ( 上手 急 須 , "teapot with handle above") teapots with a handle or handle on the top.
