Kyoto Jazz Massive is a Japanese music project consisting of the two brothers Shuya Okino and Yoshihiro Okino . They combine house sounds and break beats with jazz and funk elements or bossa nova . Classical instrumentation ( Fender Rhodes , bass , drums ) is fused with electronic elements and with voices. In short, the band can be assigned to the nu-jazz genre.

Her first sampler, Kyoto Jazz Massive , was released in 1994 and received worldwide attention. In 2000, the duo signed a record deal with Munich-based Compost Records , where they released their debut album Spirit of the Sun in 2002 . The brothers are also in demand as DJs in clubs all over the world.
