The Kyungpook National University ( Korean : 경북 대학교, English Kyungpook National University , often abbreviated as KNU or Kyungdae , 경대) is a state university that represents the city of Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province in South Korea . It is considered one of the best Korean universities and, together with Busan University, the best university in South Korea outside of Seoul . The university is located in Daegu, the capital of Gyeongbuk Province, which in an earlier Romanization was mostly written in kyungpook . It is divided into colleges and postgraduate schools according to the Anglo-Saxon model .
founding
The university was founded in September 1946 with the Colleges of Education, Medicine and Agriculture. In October 1951, the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Law and Political Studies were incorporated. Other departments such as engineering and dentistry were added later.
