Lázaro Arístides Betancourt Mella (born July 30, 1936 in Matanzas ) is a former Cuban athlete.

In 1960 Betancourt won in 14.3 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles of the Ibero-American Games. In 1962 Betancourt won the title at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 14.2 seconds. At the Pan American Games in 1963, Betancourt finished third behind the Americans Blaine Lindgren and Willie May in 14.3 seconds supported by the wind .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, Betancourt reached second place behind Eddy Ottoz in 14.6 seconds . In its semi-finals, Betancourt finished sixth in 14.2 seconds.

With a height of 1.91 meters, his competition weight was 78 kilograms.
