Lázaro Borges
Lázaro Borges ( Lázaro Eduardo Borges Ried ; born June 19, 1986 in Havana ) is a Cuban pole vaulter .
In 2005 he became Central America and Caribbean champions. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he was eliminated without a valid attempt. In 2010 he became the Ibero-American champion.
At the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu, he won the silver medal with the Cuban national record of 5.90 m and only had to admit defeat to the Pole Paweł Wojciechowski because of the higher number of failed attempts .
