Léon Zéliqzon
Léon Zéliqzon (born September 11, 1858 in Vantoux , † March 16, 1944 in Vandières ) was a French Romance scholar and dialectologist .
life and work
Zéliqzon (French for "Blessed Son") was a high school teacher in Metz and from 1888 an active member (later treasurer) of the Société d'histoire et d'archéologie de la Lorraine (SHAL). He was murdered in exile.
His dictionary of French dialects in the Moselle region is important.
A street in Metz bears his name.
