It is a tributary of the Comoé , which arises from the union of the western Léraba and the eastern Léraba near Niangoloko . Along the entire 165 km it forms the border between Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast .

On the Burkinabe bank, a nature reserve connects to the river, the Forêt Classée et Réserve Partielle de Faune de la Comoé-Léraba .
