Solder terminal
Soldering terminals are components to which a large number of wires or strands can be attached in an electrically conductive manner (usually by soldering ). Fastened to a housing or chassis by clamping or screw connections , conductive pins are held in place by insulating and heat-resistant materials. The isolator is often a cylinder with a hexagonal outline in the metric key size in order to be able to counteract the forces of the screw connection during assembly. The tinned copper or brass pin can either be soldered directly or if necessary (for example when distributing low voltages to many consumers) a platform can be expanded with a strong wire.
Soldering terminals can accommodate more connections than soldering lugs or soldering pins , but have largely lost their importance in electrical engineering / electronics with the spread of printed circuit boards .
