Lütgendorf (noble family)
Lütgendorf , also spelled Lütgendorff , is a German- Austrian noble family .
history
The origin of the family is not yet clear. There are assumptions that the family is related to the Westphalian noble family von Lütkendorp, who appeared in Westphalia in the 14th century , because this family had a very similar coat of arms. There is no documented evidence of a connection with Lieutenant Colonel Karl Emanuel von Lütgendorf (1699–1779), who was born in Düsseldorf in 1699 and who holds the title of baron, who holds the title of Prince-Bishop Würzburg. The family then appears both in Franconia in and around Würzburg and also comes into Austrian service, where the leadership of the baron title in 1883 for Hugo von Lütgendorf, kuk captain, Maximilian von Lütgendorf, kuk lieutenant and Casimir von Lütgendorf, kuk lieutenant, is recognized.
