Lu Huỳnh
Lưu Huỳnh (born before 1994) is a Vietnamese film director .
He made his first film in 1994 with Em và Michael Jackson ("Me and Michael Jackson"). His film Đường trần (“ Part of Life”) was released in 1999. This is about a young girl who, after being raped by her stepfather, goes on a spiritual journey with a Buddhist monk. In this film, Trương Ngọc Ánh played the leading role , as in Em và Michael Jackson .
She was also engaged in the director's next film, Áo lụa Hà Đông (“The White Silk Dress ”), as the leading actress. This came out after five years of shooting in 2006 and, with a budget of over two million US dollars, was the most expensive Vietnamese film to date. The film drama about the efforts of a couple to obtain a valuable silk dress won the audience award at the Pusan International Film Festival 2006, in five categories the most important Vietnamese film award Cánh diều vàng (among other things for “best film” and for “best director” ) and is the Vietnamese entry for a nomination for " best foreign language film " at the 2008 Academy Awards .
Huỳnh lives in the United States, where he has made commercials and music videos.
