L'Art du Bois is a Freiburg music ensemble that was founded in 2002 as a recorder trio. In 2004, two lutenists and a viola player were added, so that the repertoire has expanded from medieval and renaissance music to works from the baroque era for larger ensembles. The ensemble interprets the works in their own arrangements and in different line-ups.

L'Art du Bois has won numerous prizes, including both the jury and the audience award at the Van Wassenaer Concours for Early Music in The Hague and the first prize in the Göttingen Historical Music series , awarded by the Göttingen Handel Society . In 2009 the ensemble was awarded the audience prize and the 2nd prize of the jury at the Musica Antiqua competition in Bruges.

In recent years L'Art du Bois has performed at over fifty concerts and festivals in Spain, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands and Germany, among others.
