LA Heat is an American television series . Although it is a US production, it first premiered in other countries before being released in the United States. It was first broadcast from January 20, 1997 in the German-language dubbed version in Germany on RTL II , later the series was relocated to VOX . It was only broadcast in the USA when a suitable station was found with TNT ; the first broadcast there began on March 15, 1999.

The series centers around the work and personal lives of the two police officers Chester "Chase" McDonald and August Brooks. Chase also makes money selling metal sculptures he produces himself while August spends his free time at a youth center for disadvantaged youth.
