LEJ ( abbreviation for the first names L ucie, É lisa and J uliette), also written Elijay , is a French trio from the city of Saint-Denis , north of Paris .
history
In 2013, LEJ performed together for the first time as part of a singing competition by the French band “ Tryo ” and won the competition. Since then they have been singing together and forming the band.
The trio became known in the French-speaking world through medleys / mashups of well-known English songs on YouTube, especially through "Summer 2015". Juliette plays the cello and sings in the background, Lucie and Élisa are the singers.
style
The music is based on classical music and world music. Her style is also known as "eclectic".
In their own song “La Dalle” they chose the topic of sexual harassment on the street.
For the single "Tous les Deux" they released a collaborative video in March 2020 in which couples from all over the world dance to the music. After a call on social media, they had cut recordings from 400 submissions from 123 locations in 27 countries into a video.
