As a descendant of 'Mary Rose' × 'The Squire', she inherited many positive traits from 'Mary Rose'. It forms a broad, relatively low shrub with a height of about 1 m. The remontant rose 'LD Braithwaite' has large, bright crimson, slightly bowl-shaped, double flowers with the strong scent of old roses. Quote: “ … has the brightest crimson red of all English roses, and it doesn't fade that quickly. ... It has a strong old rose scent "
