The Lithuanian state railway Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (LG) calls its variant of the Siemens ER20 - series of diesel-electric locomotives , which was manufactured for the transport of heavy freight trains , the ER20 CF series .
history
In July 2005, LG ordered 34 locomotives from Siemens and at the same time granted an option for a further 10 units. The delivery of the vehicles began in summer 2007 and was completed in spring 2009. The option has been redeemed. The locomotives were manufactured in the Siemens locomotive works in Munich-Allach, the former Krauss-Maffei parent plant, and transferred on auxiliary bogies to the Mukran ferry port .
technical features
The ER20 comes from the Eurorunner family from Siemens. The diesel engine develops an output of up to 2000 kW. The maximum speed is 120 km / h.
commitment
The locomotives are used in front of heavy freight trains in the corridor traffic between Russia and the Baltic ports of Klaipėda and Kaliningrad . Used in double traction, these locomotives can pull masses of up to 6,000 tons.
