The LGT Young Soloists are a young string ensemble based in Switzerland , made up of soloists between the ages of 12 and 23. The ensemble was founded in 2013 by violinist Alexander Gilman and pianist Marina Seltenreich and is supported by the eponymous finance company LGT .

principle

The principle of the LGT Young Soloists is to offer talented young musicians a platform where they can perform among their own kind as soloists with their own orchestra, accompany each other musically and gain experience as soloists, chamber and orchestra musicians through global appearances. Building up solo and orchestral repertoire and developing your own stage presence is just as much a part of this as regular CD and video productions and appearances on TV and radio.

activity

Since it was founded in 2013, the ensemble has given international concerts and performed at well-known festivals and in renowned concert halls. This included appearances at the Rheingau Music Festival , the Dresden Music Festival , the Tonhalle Zurich , the Philharmonie Luxemburg , and the Mozarteum Salzburg .

The LGT Young Soloists have so far released three studio CDs on the RCA Red Seal (Sony Music) label :

  • Nordic Dream (2018)
  • Russian Soul (2017)
  • Italian Journey (2015)

In 2017 the ensemble released a live-in-concert DVD on the C-Major label under the title LGT Young Soloists Vol.1
