history

The place name is derived from the Slavic word Brona ( Eng . Harrow), an agricultural tillage device .

In 1838 a Protestant school was established in the village.

In 1845 the village consisted of a castle, a Protestant school, a Catholic school and a further 69 houses. In the same year 587 people lived in Brune, 43 of them Catholic and 10 Jewish. In 1874 the Jakobsdorf district was founded, which also included Brune.

In 1933 there were 414 people living in Brune. In 1939 the place again had 382 inhabitants. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Brune fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . The place was subsequently renamed Bruny and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
