Markotów Mały ( German Klein Margsdorf ) is a place of Gmina Wołczyn in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location

Markotów Mały is located in the north-western part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Markotów Mały is located around four kilometers southeast of the municipality seat Wołczyn , around 10 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kluczbork and about 46 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The village of Klein Margsdorf was founded as a colony in 1836. In 1845 the colony had six houses. In 1861, 86 people lived in Klein Margsdorf. In 1874 the district of Margsdorf was founded, to which Klein Margsdorf belonged.

In 1933 79 people lived in Klein Margsdorf, in 1939 72 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Klein Margsdorf fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Markotów Mały and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
