Brzezinki ( German Bürgsdorf ) is a place of Gmina Wołczyn in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

Brzezinki is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The street village of Brzezinki is about three kilometers northeast of the municipality seat Wołczyn , about 17 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kluczbork and about 50 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Neighboring places of Brzezinki are in the northeast Skałągi ( scaling ), in the southeast the municipality seat Unieszów ( Berthelschütz ), in the southwest the municipality seat Wołczyn ( Konstadt ) and in the northwest Krzywiczyny ( Schönfeld ).

The village of Bürgsdorf was first mentioned in 1406 as Birchart .

In 1825 a school was built in Bürgsdorf. In 1845 the village consisted of a castle, a Protestant church and another 88 houses. In the same year 842 people lived in Bürgsdorf, 22 of them Catholic. In 1874 the district of Bürgsdorf was founded.

In 1933 574 people lived in Bürgsdorf, and in 1939 again 541 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, in 1945, like most of Silesia , Bürgsdorf fell under Polish administration. The place was subsequently renamed Brzezinki and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).

Attractions

  • The Roman Catholic scrap wood church of St. Mary's Birth was built in 1550. In 1693 the church was expanded. Until 1945 the church served as a Protestant church. In 2001 the church was renovated. The church has an approximately square floor plan. At the west gable is a square bell tower with a pointed helmet. The baroque main altar dates from the second half of the 17th century. The church enclosure with an entrance gate on the eastern side was built between 1753 and 1754. The church has been a listed building since 1953.
