The Gmina Wołczyn [ ˈvɔʊ̯ʧɨn ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Kluczborski of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . Your seat is the small town of the same name ( German Konstadt ) with about 6000 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the northwest of Upper Silesia in the Silesian Lowlands . It borders on the municipality of the district town of Kluczbork (Kreuzburg in Upper Silesia) and is 40 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .
One of the waters is the Brynica (Brinnitze) , a tributary of the Stobrawa (Stober) , which flows around it.
history
As a result of the Second World War, Silesia and Konstadt fell to Poland in 1945 and became part of the Silesian Voivodeship . In 1950 the region was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the smaller Opole Voivodeship . Then in 1999 she came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski in what is now the Opole Voivodeship.

The state road Droga krajowa 42 (DK 42) runs through the municipality . On the Kluczbork – Wrocław railway line there is a connection to Wołczyn station and Wierzbica Górna station.
