Duczów Wielki ( German Large Germans ) is a place of Gmina Wołczyn in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

Duczów Wielki is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Duczów Wielki is located about seven kilometers west of the municipality seat Wołczyn , about 21 kilometers northwest of the district town Kluczbork and about 58 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

The village is on the Droga krajowa 42 road .

Neighboring towns of Duczów Wielki are in the northeast Wierzbica Dolna ( German Würbitz ), in the southeast Wierzbica Górna ( Polish Würbitz ), in the southwest Duczów Mały ( Little Germans ), in the west Dziedzice and in the northwest Włochy ( Wallendorf ).

history

In 1841 a stone schoolhouse was built in Groß Deutschen. In 1845 the village consisted of a castle, an evangelical school and another 23 houses. In the same year, 240 people lived in Groß Germans, 81 of them Catholic and one Jewish. In 1874 the district of Polish Würbitz was founded, to which Groß Deutschen belonged.

In 1933 there were 212 people in Groß Germans, and in 1939 there were 205 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Groß Deutschen fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Duczów Wielki and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
