Unieszów ( German Berthelschütz ) is a place of Gmina Kluczbork in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

Unieszów is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. Unieszów is located about ten kilometers northwest of the municipality seat Kluczbork and about 56 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole.

Neighboring towns of Unieszów are Skałągi ( Skalung ) and Rożnów ( Rosen ) in the north, Krzywizna ( Schönwald ) in the east, Smardy Górne ( Ober Schmardt ) in the southeast and Brzezinki ( Bürgsdorf ) in the northwest .

history

The village is first mentioned as Bürtulschütz in 1405 . In 1861 there were 214 people in Berthelschütz. In 1874 the Schmardt district is founded, to which Berthelschütz belongs.

In 1933 232 people lived in Berthelschütz, and in 1939 again 212 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Berthelschütz fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . The place was subsequently renamed Unieszów and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
