Krasków ( German Kraskau , 1936-1945 Grasenau ) is a place of Gmina Kluczbork in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Krasków is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. Krasków is located about two kilometers west of the municipality of Kluczbork and about 45 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole.

Krasków is located on the Stober .

Neighboring places of Krasków are in the north Ligota Dolna ( Nieder Ellguth ), in the east the municipality seat Kluczbork ( Kreuzburg OS ), in the south Borkowice ( Borkowitz ) and in the west Bogacica ( Bodland ).

South of the village is the Krasków-Kolonia belonging to Krasków ( Colony Kraskau ).

history

The village is first mentioned in 1397 as Craskow . In 1534 it was mentioned as Kraschkow .

In 1845 there was a castle, a farm, a sheep farm and another 112 houses in the village. In the same year, 783 people lived in Kraskau, 90 of them Protestants and 51 Jewish. In 1872 a Catholic chapel was built in Kraskau. In 1874 the district of Kraskau-Neuhof was founded, to which Kraskau was incorporated.

In 1925 there were 1156 people in Kraskau. In 1932, construction work began to expand the Catholic Church in Kraskau. In 1933 there were 1085 people in Kraskau. On April 27, 1936, the village was renamed Grasenau . On April 1, 1939, Grasenau was incorporated into the rural municipality of Bodland. Until 1945 the village belonged to the district of Rosenberg OS

As a result of the Second World War, Grasenau fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . The place was subsequently renamed Krasków and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).

Attractions

  • The Church of St. Hedwig was initially built as a chapel in 1872. In 1932 construction work began to expand the church, which was completed in 1942. In 2003 the church tower was built.
