Krzywizna ( German Schönwald ) is a place of Gmina Kluczbork in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Krzywizna is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. Krzywizna is about seven kilometers north of the municipal seat of Kluczbork and about 52 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole.

The Struga brook flows west of the village and the Baryczka ( Bartsch brook ) south of the town center . The regional road Droga krajowa 11 runs through the village . To the east of the village is the Kluczbork – Poznań railway with the Krzywizna stop .

Neighboring towns of Krzywizna are Sarnów ( Sarnau ) in the north, Łowkowice ( Lowkowitz ) in the east, Gotartów ( Gottersdorf ) in the south, Unieszów ( Berthelschütz ) in the southwest and Rożnów ( Rosen ) in the northwest .

history

In 1588 the village became Protestant and connected to the Evangelical Church in Konstadt.

In 1845 there was a Catholic school, a castle, a farm, a sheep farm and another 76 houses in the village. In the same year 635 people lived in Schönwald, 33 of them Protestants. In 1861 734 people lived in Schönwald. In 1874 the Schönwald district was founded.

In 1933, 866 people lived in Schönwald, and in 1939, 849 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Schönwald, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration in 1945 . Subsequently, the place was renamed Krzywizna and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).

  • Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa (Polish: Kościół Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej ) - built between 1881 and 1883 in neo-Gothic style as a Protestant church
