Bogacica ( German Bodland ) is a place of Gmina Kluczbork in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Bogacica is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. Bogacica is about nine kilometers west of the Kluczbork municipal seat and about 44 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole.

Bogacica is located on the Stober .

Neighboring towns of Bogacica are in the northwest of Stare Czaple , northeast Czaple Wolne , east Krasków ( Kraskau ), South Zabiniec ( Fabian forest ) and in the southwest Bogacka Szklarnia ( Bodlaender glassworks ).

Bogacica includes the Krężel ( Krzenschel ) colony , the Niederhof farm , the Żabiniec ( Fabianswalde ) hamlet and the Bogacka Szklarnia ( Bodländer glassworks ) settlement .

history

The place is first mentioned in 1274 as Bogalanta . The name of the village is derived from the Slavic term Bogacica , which means rich place .

In 1597, the village church was built as a Protestant church under Hans Melchior Stall, the then landlord. In 1636 the church becomes a Catholic church. In 1803 a new stone church was built in its place. The church building was consecrated on October 3, 1803.

In 1845 the village consisted of a castle, an administrative building, a Catholic school, a Catholic parish church and another 130 houses. In the same year, 1248 people lived in Bodland, 113 of them Protestant and 18 Jewish. In 1874 the Bodland district was founded. The first head of office was the royal chief magistrate Pratsch from Bodland. In 1885 there were 1737 people in Bodland.

In 1933 there were 2346 people in Bodland. In 1939 the place had 3419 inhabitants again. Until 1945 the village belonged to the district of Rosenberg OS

As a result of World War II, Bodland, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration in 1945 . The place was subsequently renamed Bogacica and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).

Attractions

  • The Trinity Church was built between 1797 and 1803. The leading architect was ES Friebel. From 1905 to 1906 the church was expanded to include a transept with a dome and a choir. E. Klink designed the interior in the neo-baroque style. The main baroque altar dates from the 17th century and was one in the Franciscan church in Namysłów . The organ was designed in the Rococo style. The church was listed as a historical monument in 1965.
