Żabiniec ( German Fabianswalde ) is a place of Gmina Kluczbork in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

Żabiniec is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. Żabiniec is located about ten kilometers southwest of the municipal seat of Kluczbork and about 43 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole.

Borkowice is located on the northeastern edge of the Stobrawski Landscape Protection Park .

Neighboring places of Żabiniec are Bogacica ( Bodland ) in the north, Borkowice ( Borkwitz ) in the east, the forest settlement Zameczek ( Hunting Castle Bodland ) in the south and Bogacka Szklarnia ( Bodländer Glassworks ) in the west .

history

In 1845 Fabianswalde had 11 houses with 82 inhabitants, one of whom was Protestant. In 1874 the Bodland district was founded, to which Fabianwalde belonged.

Until 1945 the village belonged to the district of Rosenberg OS

As a result of the Second World War, Fabianswalde fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Żabiniec and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
