Ligota Górna ( German Ober Ellguth ) is a place of Gmina Kluczbork in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

Ligota Górna is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. Ligota Górna is about three kilometers east of the municipal seat of Kluczbork and about 52 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole.

The village lies on the Stober . To the south of the village is the approx. 60 hectare rainwater retention basin Zbiornik retencyjny Kluczbork .

The national roads Droga krajowa 11 and Droga krajowa 45 run through Ligota Górna .

Neighboring places of Ligota Górna are in the northwest of the hamlet Ligota Zamecka ( Schloss-Ellguth ), in the northeast Bogdańczowice ( Wüttendorf ) and in the southeast of the hamlet Dobrzyny ( Dochhammer ).

In 1764 a Protestant school was set up in Ober Ellguth. In 1845 there was a Protestant school and 47 houses in the village. In the same year 421 people lived in Ober Ellguth, 75 of them Catholic. In 1861 389 people lived in Ober Ellguth. In 1874 the district of Bankau is founded, to which Ober Ellguth belongs.

In 1933 509 lived in Ober Ellguth. On April 1, 1938, the rural community of Schloss-Ellguth was incorporated into the community of Ober Ellguth. In 1939 the community of Ober Ellguth had 1,166 inhabitants. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Ober Ellguth fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . The place was subsequently renamed Ligota Górna and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).

In 2012, the 60 hectare rain retention basin for regulating the stober, south of Ligota Górna, was completed. This is also used as a swimming lake.

Attractions

  • The Protestant scrap wood church of the Holy Cross was built in 1787 as a cemetery chapel.
