history

In its history the village is strongly connected to the village of Kujakowice Dolne ( Nieder Kunzendorf ). Both villages are mentioned as Coyacowicz as early as 1232 . In 1283 there was another mention as Concendorf . The name is derived from the Slavic term Chojak, which means something like young pine . In 1318 a church is mentioned in Ober Kunzendorf.

In 1845 there was a Catholic parish church and another 167 houses in the village. In the same year 956 people lived in Ober Kunzendorf, 6 of them Protestants and 2 Jewish. In 1861 there were 952 people in Nieder Kunzendorf. In 1874 the district of Kunzendorf is founded, to which the village of Ober Kunzendorf belongs.

In 1933, 1304 people lived in Ober Kunzendorf, and in 1939 there were 1256 people. In 1940 the Kunzendorfer Bach is regulated in the town center. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Ober Kunzendorf, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration in 1945 . The place was subsequently renamed Kujakowice Górne and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
