LHGL tub
An LHGL tub is an effect spotlight that is used in event technology. It creates a homogeneous, flat light and is suitable for both static and dynamic color lighting.
Device structure and naming
LHGL is derived from fluorescent backlight . In an LHGL tub, four fluorescent tubes with the colors red, green, blue and white are installed in a tub-shaped housing. All four fluorescent tubes can be dimmed from 0–100%, which is made possible by integrated electronic ballasts. This enables practical additive color mixing . It is controlled via the DMX-512 protocol, whereby at least four DMX channels are required for the dimmer control of the four fluorescent tubes. LHGL tanks are operated directly with mains voltage. The housings usually have a TV spigot mount.
application
LHGL tubs produce, due to the fluorescent tubes, a homogeneous and diffuse surface light. They are therefore ideally suited for the low-shadow illumination of areas. There is no need for a large distance between the LHGL tub and the object to be illuminated. LHGL tubs can be used for both static color lighting (one shade) and for dynamic color lighting (color change). In both applications, the brightness can be dimmed from 0–100%. If several LHGL tubs are used, spatial color gradients can be implemented, both static (unchanged over time) and dynamically moving.
