1. FC Poznan

The 1. FC Posen was a German football club in the Second World War by the German Reich annexed, formerly Polish city of Poznan .

The association was founded in February 1940 by the authorities of the Reichsgau Wartheland . The former Polish national player Friedrich Scherfke , who had registered as an ethnic German , was used as first chairman and team captain at the same time . Were among the players according to press reports, both German nationals and German people and as part of the resettlement action " Heim ins Reich " has come to Poznan Baltic German . Poles were not allowed to become members, they were prohibited from participating in organized sport.

In October 1940, the 1. FC Posen was renamed the Air Force Sports Club (LSV) Posen, Scherfke left the squad. The NS authorities apparently regarded him as unreliable because of his contacts with club mates from his former Warta Poznań Club .
