La.Meko Film Festival Landau

The La.Meko Filmfestival Landau has been an annual film festival since 2001 in Landau in the Palatinate . The organizer has been the Filmfestival Landau eV association since 2004 , which is committed to promoting film culture in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The idea for the event came from the media education / communication psychology student body (FaMeKo, also the initial name of the festival) at the University of Koblenz-Landau in 2000 . The idea was to be open to all amateurs. The first festival took place on July 13, 2001 in the halls of the University of Landau. Since 2005 the festival has been held in the Universum Kino in Landau.

Prizes are awarded in several categories, some of which change annually. Fixed categories are: jury award, audience award and regional award. Requirements for participation in the festival are: no films longer than 30 minutes, no advertising films and no more than two submissions per participant.
