La Aurora (cigar maker)
La Aurora SA is a cigar manufacturer from the Dominican Republic .
18 year old Eduardo Leon Jimenes, son of a tobacco farmer, founded the cigar factory in 1903 with the intention of producing world class cigars .
In the 1960s, the company entered into a partnership with the internationally leading tobacco company Philip Morris . Since 2006 the brand has been concentrating again on its actual core competence, the production of the finest cigars. The manufacturer is now part of the Empresa Leon Jimenes Group, one of the largest companies in the Dominican Republic.
