The up to 43  m high area in the center of the Pétrel Island in the Géologie Archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland is named as La Cave ( French for The Cave ) .

French scientists named it in 1977 after a cave located here in which they had installed a seismological recording system.
