La Hire
La Hire is the family name of the following people:
- Étienne de La Hire (1583–1643), French painter
- Laurent de La Hire (1606–1656), his son, painter
- Philippe de La Hire (1640–1718), his son, mathematician and astronomer
- Gabriel-Philippe de La Hire (1677–1719), his son, mathematician
- Jean-Nicolas de La Hire (1685–1727), his brother, a botanist
La Hire (old French: the anger ) was the nickname of the French knight Étienne de Vignolles (approx. 1390–1443)
The jack of hearts of French playing cards is also called La Hire (referring to Étienne de Vignolles ) and is often written Lahire .
