La Macana is a town in Uruguay .
geography
La Macana is located in the Florida Department in Sector 1 . The place is in the western part of the department, a few kilometers north of the capital Florida and south-southeast of La Cruz . Not far to the east flows the Río Santa Lucía Chico , whose tributary Arroyo de la Macana passes near the village. The closest town to the east is San Gabriel .
Residents
The population of La Macanas is 91 (as of 2011), 46 of them male and 45 female. The Instituto Nacional de Estadística de Uruguay did not collect any data for the previous censuses in 1963, 1975, 1985 and 1996 .
