La Pairelle
La Pairelle - actually Center Spirituel Ignatien La Pairelle - is a conference and retreat house in Wépion , a few kilometers away from Namur ( Belgium ). It was founded in 1971 and is sponsored by the Jesuit Order .
The entire complex comprises several buildings and a 17 hectare park and forest area. It was laid out in the early 1930s on a hill above the Meuse and initially served the Society of Jesus as a training center. After structural changes, it was reopened as a retreat house in 1971.
The center has 70 guest rooms, several dining rooms and a large kitchen in the main building. Three chapels of different sizes are used for liturgical celebrations and personal prayer. The main building also houses a Jesuit community that (2012) had 13 members. The center offers Ignatian retreats , retreats and training throughout the year .
