La Palma is a small town in the Darién province of the Central American state of Panama with 1,741 inhabitants.

It is the largest city and the provincial capital of Darien. The city is located at the mouth of the Río Tuira in the Gulf of San Miguel ( Pacific ) and has its own local airport (code: PLP). La Palma is often used as a starting point for expeditions into the Darién rainforest .
