La toile et la dague is a Franco-Belgian comic series published between 1986 and 1989 .

Andrea is a young painter in the service of the powerful Medici family. Despite this position, his mind is still clinging to his previous life and love. Because of his closeness to Lorenzo de Medici, the head of the ruling family in Florence, he gets more and more caught up in the vortex of political power struggles between the Pope and his client.

Jean Dufaux wrote a story about the Pazzi conspiracy of 1478. The drawings were by Edouard Aidans . The series was released in album form directly from Dargaud .
