The Labëria ( Albanian undefined form: labëri ) is a region in southwestern Albania on the Adriatic and Ionian Sea between Vlora and the border with Greece near Saranda , which includes Gjirokastra and extends in the northeast to the city of Tepelena .

The area does not form a geographical unit, but is made up of several mountain ranges, valleys and plateaus. The long-established Albanian inhabitants of the region are also called "Laben"; they speak their own Tuscan dialect. The Labëria is known for its rich folklore. Colorful costumes were still widespread until the middle of the 20th century and polyphonic singing, which is called iso-polyphony because of the drone voice that accompanies it, is still used today .

The version of the Kanun , which is widespread in large areas of southern Albania, was named after the Labëria .
