Laboratory lift

A laboratory boy (more rarely also laboratory lifting platform or laboratory witch ) is a small, height-adjustable platform that is used in laboratories . The Laborboy is used for experimental setups where parts of the setup require a variable working height. It usually has a footprint of around 20 × 20 cm, so that standard laboratory equipment such as heating stirrers , flasks , beakers or similar can fit on it. The Laborboy can usually be continuously adjusted to a height of around 10 to 40 cm using a screw. There are also models that can be adjusted using an electric motor, as well as laboratory boys with a larger or smaller area that can be adjusted to different heights.

The laboratory lift not only has practical aspects, but is also an important safety element. The heating bath can be placed on it for reactions that take place at elevated temperatures . The flask in which the reaction takes place is attached to a stand and immersed in the heating bath. If the reaction becomes too violent, the heating bath can be removed quickly using the lifting platform.
