The Lac Joseph is a lake in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .
The lake is located on a plateau in the central southeast of the Labrador Peninsula . Its water area is 397 km². Including the islands, the total area is 451 km². The water level is at a height of about 505 m . The catchment area of Lac Joseph covers 6900 km². Important tributaries are Rivière aux Poissons , Rivière à l'Eau Claire and the outflow of the lake Petit lac Joseph to the south . Lac Joseph on its southeast bank is drained by the Kepimits River . This flows to the east of Atikonak Lake .
