The Kepimits River is a 26 km long river in the southeast of the Labrador Peninsula in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .
River course
The Kepimits River is located in the basin of the Churchill River . It drains the lake Lac Joseph on its southeastern shore. It initially flows 6 km east to Kepimits Lake . He leaves this at its southern end. The Kepimits River flows in a predominantly south-easterly direction and after another 16 km reaches the west bank of Atikonak Lake . 2.5 km above the mouth, coming from the south, a larger nameless river meets the Kepimits River.
Hydrology
The catchment area of the Kepimits River covers approximately 7700 km². At the gauge at river kilometer 13, the mean discharge is 150 m³ / s. In June the river carries the largest amount of water with an average of 500 m³ / s.
