The Lago Fanaco is a reservoir built from 1951 to 1953 and fed by the Platani in the metropolitan city of Palermo in Sicily .
It lies between the mountains of Monte Lupo (1092 m) and Monte Fieravecchia (1081 m) and is used for drinking water. The town of Castronovo di Sicilia is 6.2 kilometers from the lake.
