Lagoa Funda is a crater lake on the Portuguese Azores island of Terceira in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo .
It is located in the volcanic Caldeira of the Serra de Santa Bárbara at about 900 m above sea level. NN. The seasonally dry, shallow lake on the northwest side of the caldera, which has a maximum diameter of 2 to 2.5 km, is surrounded by partially endemic Macaronesian vegetation. It is fed by high rainfall.
Also in the nature reserve of the Reserva Florestal da Serra de Santa Bárbara e dos Misterios Negros is the even smaller Lagoa Negra at 1021 m . The bottom of both bodies of water is sealed using organic material.
