Lagoa das Éguas Norte ( Portuguese 'northern mare lake') is a lake in Portugal on the Azores island of São Miguel in the Ponta Delgada district . The lake is located in the Serra Devassa at about 830 m above sea level. It is the more northerly of two lakes on the Pico das Éguas (873 m), the highest point in the west of São Miguel. Its area is about 0.3 hectares and its water is eutrophic . In the maps it is usually only referred to as Lagoa das Éguas .

The other lake is about 150 meters further to the south and is accordingly called Lagoa das Éguas Sul . It is almost circular and has a diameter of a little more than 50 meters, also covering an area of ​​0.3 hectares. Its phosphorus content is so high that the lake is also considered eutrophic .
