A flat rolled (flattened) wire made of gold , silver or another metal is called Lahn , Plätt , Platte or Rausch .

use

Lahn is used to decorate borders, hems or fringes. Lahn was mainly used for monastery work.

If a textile carrier thread is wrapped with Lahn, a Lahn thread or Lahn braid is created .

Manufacturing

Lahn is produced using a so-called wire flattening mill, between whose two rollers the wire can be flattened.
