Laila Nielsen

Laila Nielsen (born April 14, 1980 in Basel , Switzerland ) is a Swiss- German film and theater actress .

Life

Nielsen grew up with her mother and twin sister mainly in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. Your father lives in Denmark. Through her mother, who was a freelance journalist for the cultural section of a daily newspaper, she came into contact with the theater early on. She and her sister were taken to theater, ballet and opera performances, and Laila Nielsen discovered already in kindergarten that she wanted to be an actress. From 1998 to 2002 she studied drama at the University of Music and Theater in Bern . After her first piece contract at the Schauspielhaus Zürich , she decided to go freelance. Since 2004 she has been working with the theater group Fringe Ensemble in Bonn, with whom she travels internationally. From 2012 to 2019 she worked closely with the Schaubühne Lindenfels in Leipzig.

Laila Nielsen played the leading role in the Swiss television film Lago Mio by Jann Preuss. Further film engagements in Switzerland and Germany followed.

Laila Nielsen has lived in Leipzig with her husband and two daughters since 2009.
