Lactate equivalent

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The lactate equivalent is a term used in sports physiology and describes the quotient of lactate and oxygen uptake .

Since oxygen uptake can only be determined directly in complex spiroergometry and is proportional to performance in the lower performance range in healthy people , the quotient of lactate and performance is usually used as an alternative for the calculation. The performance at which this quotient reaches a minimum is called the individual aerobic threshold .
